Our Story

Inspired By Stockdogs...

As a life-long entrepreneur and fifth generation Agriculturalist, I enjoy the rewards and challenges of agricultural life. I was very active in FFA in high school, serving as the Montana State FFA President and winning the Western Region Star in Agribusiness for my horse training business - the first woman to ever receive the honor.  Those early experiences in leadership, business and community formed a solid foundation the rest of my life has been built upon.  I am an avid supporter of Youth Ag organizations and believe our future lies in the education of our youth.

I'm fortunate to own my own farm and have the freedom to pursue my goals in production AND training!  In 2017, after nearly 30 years as a professional horse trainer, I decided it was time to scale that operation back and pursue other interests and business opportunities.  That's when I started training stock dogs!  With that obsession came the need for sheep and the seeds were planted for a new venture... The Sassy Shepherdess.  I produce Premium Quality Wool products for hand spinning, needle felting and all your crafting needs.  I also raise extraordinary grass finished lamb!

Dogs were the reason for starting The Sassy Shepherdess and they remain at the forefront of the operation today. I travel all over North America trialing my dogs as well as offer training and lessons at my farm. I can't explain the peace and fulfillment I feel when my dogs and I are working on the farm. It's a tie to ages past that words can't adequately describe. 

I'm dedicated to producing the highest quality lamb on the market as well as luxurious raw wool products.  It's a new chapter that is unfolding into quite an exciting adventure!
